About National American University
National American University was started in 1941 as a business college, focusing primarily on secretarial and accounting classes. When WWII veterans began to return home, NAU answered the need for advanced business education by adding courses and faculty. Since then, the university has continued to expand its course offerings and faculty. Today, NAU is a fully accredited university offering baccalaureate and graduate level education.
When internet-based distance learning and adult educational models were introduced, NAU began to offer on-line classes. Today, NAU offers classes at 16 physical campuses and a virtual campus. You can complete educational requirements on campus, on line or in a “blended” format, where some classes are online and some are on campus.
NAU’s distinctive's include small class sizes (15-24), a caring and supportive environment and a culture of diversity. The school offers technical and professional continuing education, undergraduate education and graduate education in health care, business and business-related fields utilizing traditional, accelerated and distance learning formats.

The National American University RN to BSN program provides necessary knowledge for registered nurses to transition to effective professional nursing practice in a rapidly changing environment.
The National American University RN to BSN program is designed for working RN's with an associate degree or diploma certificate, building on the student’s past education and experience.
This program offers a flexible and practical way for RN's to expand their knowledge and prepare for leadership positions in a variety of health care settings. It also provides the skills and credentials necessary to pursue graduate education.
The RN to BSN program will develop the student’s cultural competence in practicing nursing with a diverse society and provide an overview of health care accounting, reimbursement, legal statutes, and information technology skills needed for managerial nursing positions.
In addition, the RN to BSN program aims to develop the student’s critical thinking skills to improve professional nursing practice and health care outcomes, while exposing the student to nursing and health care philosophy and theories necessary for collaborative and interdisciplinary leadership.
