About the Vocational Nursing Program

Charter College offers students a fifteen month program which may qualify and prepare them to take the state licensing exam to become licensed vocational nurses (LVN).  LVN's work in a variety of settings, and the job can provide excellent benefits, good pay, and challenging work.  The Vocational Nursing Program focuses on classroom instruction and hands-on experience.  Training in areas of patient care, nursing skills, medical/surgical nursing, and specialty nursing is provided to teach nursing students the fundamentals they need to do their jobs. 

About the Medical Assistant Program

Charter College has an 8 month Medical Assistant program designed to train students for careers as clinical medical assistants, electrocardiogram technicians, medical secretaries, and medical receptionists. 

In order to enroll in any Charter College programs, candidates must be over 18 years old, complete an interview with a college representative to gauge interest and understanding of programs, complete an admissions assessment, and demonstrate financial ability to pay tuition.  A high school diploma is not needed for most of Clarita’s programs.

Charter College has three locations, Lancaster, Long Beach, and Canyon County.  Canyon Country, located in Santa Clarita, is easily accessible from major freeways and by public transportation.  The campus is just minutes from the San Fernando Valley.  Classrooms are built with industry-current equipment and methodologies.  Charter College does not offer student housing, but the surrounding area has ample affordable housing options.
