About Northwestern College

Northwestern College was established in 1902 and was Chicago’s first private business college. It is a career-oriented school that utilizes hands-on knowledge acquisition and training to prepare people for employment in in-demand fields. The classes are very focused and relevant to the student’s career choice.

chicago nursing studentNBC’s academic year is divided into quarters. Students who wish to graduate as quickly as possible attend during the summer quarter. Classes can be taken during the day, evenings or weekends and students can attend full or part time, and can change status from semester to semester. NBC is aware that adult learners have to incorporate classes into work and family schedules.

NBC also allows students to validate life experiences and gain credit for them by taking an examination. Advanced Status Examinations do not give you college credit, but will give you advanced placement in a class. CBE (Credit by Examination) does give you college credit for taking and passing the exam.

Northwestern College is a career school, and graduates get all the help they need getting established in a career. The placement center offers assistance in resume writing, interview practice and job-search skill development. They also give students lifelong placement assistance.
