About the Vocational Nursing Program

Vocational nurses work in a variety of settings and can perform most duties that a registered nurse (RN) can.  LVN's work under the supervision of an RN or licensed physician.  Perhaps the fastest growing place of work for LVN's is doctors’ offices and clinics.  This challenging and rewarding field is well-paying, versatile, flexible, and secure.  Because of the shortage of nurses throughout the country, graduates of CNI’s Vocational Nursing Program will be in a good position to find employment.  Also, becoming an LVN leaves the possibility open for further education and career advancement.

CNI’s 52 week program prepares students to take the licensing exam to become a licensed vocational nurse.  Future nurses are trained in obstetrics, pediatrics, respiratory, gastrointestinal, cardiovascular, endocrine, immunology, neuroscience, and oncology areas.  In addition, they learn about life cycles, reproduction, rehab, and leadership supervision duties.  A practicum lets students practice the skills they’ve learned in real situations under supervision.   This all-encompassing course will allow students to gain knowledge and experience to become leaders in their chosen profession.

The Vocational Nursing Program requires students to complete 1260 hours and 84 credits.  In order to qualify, students must be at least 17 years old, have a high school diploma or GED, and meet minimum requirements for admission.
