They emphasize the necessity of developing competence in communication, critical thinking, collaboration, information utilization and life long learning. Phoenix does not focus on academics or skills exclusively, but seeks to bring the two together, bridging the gap between theory and practice.

University of Phoenix offers classes that fit into the schedule of a working adult. Some classes can be taken online. Many classes are offered in the evenings. Students can take one class at a time if that’s what works best for their schedules and budgets.

Nursing Programs

The University of Phoenix offers several professional nursing programs in the Colorado area, including several undergraduate and graduate online degree options.

The LPN to BSN Bridge program helps practical and vocational nurses acquire a BS in Nursing and prepares them to take the NCLEX-RN exam and to apply for licensure as registered nurses. The curriculum builds on the foundation that they already have. Students take a minimum of 120 credit hours in liberal arts and nursing classes. The nursing classes focus on transitioning roles from vocational nurse to professional registered nurse, advanced clinical nursing practice and critical thinking.

Phoenix offers several graduate degree options for nurses in Northern California. Nurses can choose to get an MBA in Health Care Management or an MSN (Master of Science in Nursing). The MSN program also includes a Family Nurse Practitioner or a Health Care Educator option. Master’s level nurses learn advanced nursing theory, practice and research and are prepared to assume nursing leadership roles.
