About Keiser University
Keiser University is a private college based in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and with campuses in several other Florida communities. It was established in 1977 by the Keiser family, who saw a need to provide career-focused education that prepared graduates with hands-on training as well as solid academics.

About the Nursing Programs
Students can earn either an Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in nursing at Keiser. Nursing is one of the most in-demand professions today. Graduates have little trouble finding employment at a livable wage in an exciting field.
Keiser nursing graduates are employed in many nursing specialties and in a variety of clinical settings. BSN graduates are prepared for graduate school, where they can prepare to meet the increasing demand for nursing educators.
Keiser’s Associate Degree nursing program gives the student clinically focused education that prepares him or her to communicate effectively in written and spoken form, utilize critical thinking for problem solving, collaborate with other health care team members and with patients, and practice the nursing process utilizing skills of observation, assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention and evaluation.
Associate Degree nursing graduates can take the NCLEX exam and be licensed as Registered Nurses, and are qualified for entry level nursing positions. The BSN program is a distance learning option for currently licensed RN’s who want to further their education to qualify for increased professional responsibility and/or graduate school. The program emphasizes the allocation and management of resources in the health care system and leadership within the health care team.

Keiser University is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. The nursing program at Melbourne is also fully accredited by the Florida State Board of Nursing.
