Students at HoHoKus Hackensack School of Business and Medical Sciences can choose from two nursing programs, Bilingual Hispanic Nursing (LPN), and Licensed Practical Nursing.


Bilingual Hispanic Nursing (LPN)


With a growing need for bilingual nurses to work among the Hispanic population, HoHoKus Hackensack School of Business and Medical Sciences is pleased to offer a Bilingual Hispanic Nursing (LPN) program to prospective students. A great way to enter the field of nursing, this program is designed to prepare Spanish speaking ESL students for a career as a Licensed Practical Nurse.


Featuring bilingual instructors, the Bilingual Hispanic Nursing (LPN) at HoHoKus Hackensack School of Business and Medical Sciences spans 18 months, and includes 600 hours of ESL training. Prepping students for the NCLEX-PN exam, students may take exams in Spanish or English during the first 9 months of the program.

Licensed Practical Nursing


An in-demand profession, it is expected that there will be almost 1 million vacancies for entry-level nurses by the year 2020. A great sign for prospective nursing students, HoHoKus Hackensack School of Business and Medical Sciences is pleased to offer a Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) program to prospective students.


Learning how to work under the direct supervision of a registered nurse or physician, the Licensed Practical Nursing program at HoHoKus Hackensack School of Business and Medical Sciences is designed to give students the training needed in order to purse a career in this growing field. In addition, students of the LPN program will learn how to follow physician's orders, conduct diagnostic testing, administer medication, and perform client observations.

HackensackHackensack gets its unusual name from the Native American tribe Lenni Lenape’s Chief Oratam, who deeded the land to settlers in 1664. Hackensack means “mouth of a river,” and the early Hackensack villages practiced Democracy, in which all members of the tribes were involved in decision making. Dutch settlers and native tribes were able to live harmoniously.

Hackensack, New Jersey, is home to 43,000 people, but its daytime population nearly triples as people come to the city for professional and commercial needs.
