About the Vocational Nursing Program
Nursing is more than just a job; it’s a calling. Stanbridge addresses all aspects of the vocational nursing field, the technical and physical, the emotional, and the spiritual. Patients are people, and Stanbridge graduates trained nurses who are well equipped to care for the health and emotional needs of patients, whether it involves explaining procedures and relieving fears or just listening.
Students will graduate with excellent credentials as medical professionals. Stanbridge focuses on up-to-the-minute nursing techniques and knowledge, further preparing students to enter their chosen profession. Students study biology, psychology, social sciences and more in classroom and practical situations.
Students complete a complimentary introduction to nursing class which prepares them for more in depth learning by covering terminology and hands-on fundamentals. Not only that, but vocational nursing students are also given a laptop with sophisticated software in order to learn material and become proficient users of technology. They also get a PDA with Drug Guide Software, which is useful during clinical rotations. Both the laptop and the PDA are for the students to keep after graduation.
Stanbridge is totally committed to helping their students succeed, and they will even pay the state licensing exam fee if the students meet the requirements. At Stanbridge, students are given every opportunity for success. To be admitted, students need to hold a high school diploma and have a high school GPA of 2.0 or higher.
