About ATA Career Education

Beginning its life in 1992 as A Technical Advantage, Inc., ATA provided network consulting services. Two years later, because of the huge demand for qualified IT professionals, ATA expanded to begin offering Microsoft-certified technical training.

Nursing Student LouisvilleIn 2003, ATA committed to becoming a quality provider of allied health care education in addition to information technology. In 2005, ATA became accredited in that area as well.

With hands-on, practical education, combined with industry-current instruction, ATA demonstrates its dedication to every student and gives them an edge when entering the job market.

About the Practical Nursing Program

It is a good time to pursue your dream of becoming a practical nurse; nurses are in demand even while other job sectors may slow.

In addition, there are a variety of settings in which qualified nurses can find employment, such as hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living centers, medical offices, surgical centers, home health, and more.

ATA offers students a fifteen month Practical Nursing program, which is divided into six academic quarters. Focusing on hands-on training, courses include: Introduction to Practical Nursing, Medical/Surgical Nursing, and Maternal and Newborn Nursing, among others.

Upon completion of the Practical Nursing program, students will be able to sit for the NCLEX-PN, which is the national licensing exam for Practical Nurses.

Accreditation

ATA is accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES). The Practical Nursing program is approved by the Kentucky Board of Nursing.

Faculty

ATA Career Education’s mission to provide the most current, pertinent instruction to both Allied Health and Information Technology students is demonstrated in the quality of the faculty. Faculty members are not only exceptional teachers, they are also professionals in their fields.

This gives students the advantage of gaining valuable insight into their futures, as well as a better idea of the types of skills and temperament they need to succeed. In addition, ATA offers academic tutoring and help with preparation for exams. There are also community service projects and campus activities to get students more involved.

Facilities

ATA features new, spacious classrooms and state-of-the-art labs for students in the Allied Health programs. Students get a feel for the actual spaces they’ll be working in during their careers, and because they get to complete an externship in a professional health care facility, they will gain valuable and practical work experience.


Financial Aid

ATA participates in federal financial aid programs. To determine eligibility for federal grants and loans, students and applicants need to fill out a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid).

During the admissions process, a financial aid representative will be available for any questions you have on financial aid and how to apply for it. At any point in the application process or during your education at ATA, the financial aid professionals are happy to assist you.
