About the Associate's Degree in Practical Nursing Program
Nursing is a profession that is growing in the United States. Qualified nurses are greatly in demand, so graduates of Rasmussen’s Associates’ Degree in Practical Nursing Program will find excellent job prospects. Being a practical nurse is a rewarding and challenging job with several duties, including administering medication or starting IVs, assisting patients, assembling and using medical equipment, and providing basic patient care and treatments.
At Rasmussen, you will learn the skills and knowledge necessary to be an effective LPN. Areas of study include anatomy and physiology, psychology, sociology, medical terminology, nursing fundamentals, nutrition, and much more. Graduates will be well prepared to take the appropriate state licensing exam in order to become a licensed practical nurse. This program requires the completion of 90 credits.
About the Diploma in Practical Nursing Program
The Diploma in Practical Nursing Program is designed for nurses who are already working in the health care field and want to improve their credentials. This will allow nurses to advance in their careers and earn more money.
Those in the diploma program study anatomy and physiology, nutrition, pharmacology, psychology and psychological nursing, maternal, geriatric, and pediatric nursing, as well as advanced nursing skills and concepts. This program requires students to complete 70 credits.
