About the Nursing Assistant Program

Nursing assistants provide direct personal care to people in hospitals, nursing homes and home care. They work under the supervision of licensed and registered nurses or physicians.

At CDM Institute, students acquire the skills necessary to be a nursing assistant in class, laboratory settings and in supervised clinical experiences. They learn anatomy and physiology, psychology, communication techniques, First Aid and CPR. They provide personal hygiene and care, fluid and nutrition assistance, mobility assistance, elimination assistance and emotional support to patients in a nursing home.
