About the Practical Nursing Program

For those who use public transportation, we are also on the Mason City transit route.

Financial Aid

Kaplan University participates in a number of financial aid programs. Students can apply for Federal and State student aid by completing a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) form.

Many students work while they go to college, and the Career Center helps them find and apply for off campus jobs. In addition to listing local job openings, students who want to work can get help with job hunting skills and interviewing skills at the Career Center. Students continue to receive placement assistance after graduation.

With a history dating back to the mid-1800's Mason City is a community that takes pride in its past, while looking towards its bright future. With a population of approximately 30,000 this community maintains a small town atmosphere, while boasting some "big-city" accomplishments.

The story of Mason City and the world of music seem to go hand-in-hand. Home to the last performance of Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and J.P. "The Big Bopper" Richardson's concert, Mason City was also the childhood home of Meredith Wilson, author of the famous musical "The Music Man". The show first opened on Broadway in 1957 and became a hit, with a three year run at the Majestic Theatre, followed by an additional 1,375 performances at the Broadway Theatre. "The Music Man" has received numerous awards, including 9 Tony Awards in 1957.
