About the Practical Nursing Program

With the ever-increasing need of nursing support, practical nursing has become more important than ever. The psychological and somatic comforts of patients are the practical nurses’ highest priority with the monitoring and recording of patients' symptoms and conditions as just a part of their many duties. Practical nurses also assist in giving medications and applying treatments in rehabilitative care, making them an integral part of the health team support team.

This compressed program takes less than a year and gives the student a fundamental understanding of medical terminology, medical ethics, physiology, psychology, nutrition, anatomy and gerontological nursing.

MedVance’s Practical Nursing Program also prepares the successful graduate to take the state-sponsored practical nursing examination, qualifying them as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the state of Florida.  MedVance’s Practical Nursing Program provides a perfect environment for students to gain entry-level positions of support in health care in such venues as hospitals, clinics and long-term care facilities.

Program students take a hands-on approach in the lab and simulated health care scenarios. MedVance’s Practical Nursing Program also includes practical experience and externships for their students.
