About the Nursing Programs
The University of Phoenix offers several professional nursing programs in the Orlando area.
The LPN to BSN Bridge program helps practical and vocational nurses acquire a BS in Nursing and prepares them to take the NCLEX-RN exam and to apply for licensure as registered nurses. The curriculum builds on the foundation that they already have.
Students take a minimum of 120 credit hours in liberal arts and nursing classes. The nursing classes focus on transitioning roles from vocational nurse to professional registered nurse, advanced clinical nursing practice and critical thinking.
Phoenix offers several graduate degree options for nurses in Orlando. Nurses can choose to get an MBA in Health Care Management or an MSN (Master of Science in Nursing). The MSN program also includes a Family Nurse Practitioner or a Health Care Educator option. Master’s level nurses learn advanced nursing theory, practice and research and are prepared to assume nursing leadership roles.
Accreditation
University of Phoenix is accredited by the Higher Learning Center and is a member of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. The nursing programs are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).

Orlando is the home to many companies supporting the space program, and Cape Canaveral and Kennedy Space Center are within easy driving distance. For those that enjoy nature, you can go to the zoo and check out the butterfly garden and herpetarium. You can see manatees at Blue Springs State Park. Orlando is also about halfway between the Atlantic and Gulf Coast beaches.
