About the Practical Nursing Program

Practical nurses work in most clinical settings, including hospitals, nursing homes, clinics and doctor’s offices. They work under the supervision of registered nurses and/or physicians and provide advanced nursing care to people throughout their life spans.

Lincoln Tech provides skill training in all aspects of nursing. Graduates are prepared to take the NCLEX exam for practical nurses and to apply for licensure as an LPN.

Lincoln Tech’s Mount Paramus campus, you'll find a simulated real-world Doctor’s Office Classroom (DOC), in addition to hands-on training from Industry experienced instructors. The campus also features free parking and easy access to public transportation. The Paramus campus is conveniently located on Route 4, adjacent to the Bergen County Mall.

Financial Aid

Because Lincoln Technical Institute is a fully accredited school, students can take advantage of all state and federal financial aid programs, including Pell Grants, Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grants, Federally funded student loans and Work-Study programs. Students should complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid and contact the Financial Aid office at the school.

Lincoln Tech recognizes that getting an education can be costly, but the school does not believe that cost should be a barrier to education. Not only do they provide assistance in finding educational funding, but classes are scheduled so that students can continue to work while attending school.

Originally named by the Lenni Lenape Indians, one of the earliest written versions of the name Paramus dates back to 1708 , when the town was originally called Parames. Experts on the Lenni Lenape language say that Perampsus means literally "where there is worthwhile or fertile land", and Paramus today has certainly lived up to the name.

A mecca for commerce, Paramus is one of the largest shopping regions in the country, with over $5 billion in annual retail sales, more than any other ZIP Code in the United States. In addition Paramus is home to the world's third-largest IKEA, located across from the Garden State Plaza.

Originally home to one of the nations first drive-in theaters, Paramus still has a wide array of entertainment options, including the Van Saun County Park. As Bergen County's only zoo, it is home to a wide variety of wild and domestic animals living in recreated habitats natural to each species.
