About the Associate Degree in Nursing Education Program

This 17-month accelerated program results in a diploma and prepares graduates to write the National Council of Licensing Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX).   Graduates that successfully complete this test are not only certified to work in the state of Utah but are able to work in all 50 U.S. states and the U.S. territories.

This program requires students to successfully complete a variety of courses. The primary areas of course study include:

Gerontology

Critical Care

Medical-Surgical Nursing

About the LPN to RN Program

LPN's who wish to upgrade their classification to RN status can take this accelerated course and graduate in six months.  Courses focus on all areas of nursing education including patient care, nursing practices, and leadership. As with the Associate Degree in nursing, Stevens-Henager is constantly refining their nursing programs to be in line with the ever-evolving world of health care and nursing, so it is recommended that the applicant contact the admissions office for a complete up-to-date curriculum.

Stevens-Henager College is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges of Technology (ACCSCT).  Their medical specialties program at the Salt Lake City campus is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).

Financial Aid

Students wishing to apply for financial assistance should contact the financial aid office in order to determine what funding bodies are appropriate for their financial needs. 

Stevens Henager has many aid options available such as Pell Grants, Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grants (SEOG), Subsidized Stafford Loans (Federal Student Loans), Unsubsidized Stafford Loans (Federal Student Loans) and Parent Loans for Undergraduate Students (PLUS Loans).  Students may also pay for courses using the GI Bill and can participate at Stevens-Henager using veteran’s benefits.
