About Career Colleges of America
Career Colleges of America was founded in 1988 to offer entry-level career training. Since that time, it has continually updated, improved and expanded its facilities, staff and educational offerings in order to meet the needs of today’s students. The San Bernardino campus opened in 2003, offering a variety of programs that includes vocational nursing.
CCA’s mission is to provide quality; value-added training that gives students the skills and competencies for entry-level jobs in their chosen professions. The educational environment encourages teamwork, facilitates personal growth and values respect for the individual.
CCA provides career and technical training that is relevant and useful to the surrounding community, which enhances their graduates’ employment opportunities. The school emphasizes hands-on, job-situation training that is pertinent and focused and provided by highly qualified and professionally experienced instructors.
The school is committed to helping students meet their career goals, too. The Career Services Department helps students and graduates locate employment opportunities and prepare for the job market. Some of their services are resume preparation assistance, interview preparation, job market strategies and classes on networking, professional attire and time management.
Vocational Nursing Programs
The Vocational Nursing program at Career Colleges of America has clearly stated educational objectives. Graduates will be able to provide direct patient care in an ethical, caring manner in a variety of clinical settings. They will be prepared to take the NCLEX-PN examination and, after passing the exam, will qualify for licensure as vocational nurses.
Students learn in classroom, laboratory and clinical settings. Clinical assignments allow them to care for patients of all ages, backgrounds and stages of wellness. Students learn how to assess patients, provide direct care, perform treatments and administer medications. Underscoring the clinical experiences is a sound theoretical foundation in the science and practice of nursing.
After students graduate and are licensed, they can work in hospitals, community health agencies, nursing homes, doctors offices and other health care settings. Licensed vocational nurses work under the supervision of physicians, registered nurses and other health care professionals. Experienced licensed vocational nurses may supervise other health care providers in some settings. LVN’s earn good salaries, and many healthcare professionals begin their careers as vocational nurses.
Accreditation
Career Colleges of America is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Education and Training (ACCET) and the Commission on Accreditation for Allied Health Educational Programs (CAAHEP). It is approved by the California Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technicians.
Facility
Career Colleges of America hires academically qualified faculty who have extensive professional experience. The instructors are expert in both the theoretical foundations of nursing and in the practical application of that theory in everyday clinical situations.

Going to School in San Bernardino
As one of the oldest communities in California, San Bernardino has plenty of history but it also has plenty to do. Although known for three major events each year including the National Orange Show held in the Spring, the Route 66 Rendezvous held in the Fall and the Western Regional Little League baseball championships held in Summer, the city has lots more to offer.
Arts & Culture – The San Bernardino County Museum holds a collection of artifacts representing the area’s cultural and natural heritage. Then there is the California Theatre of the Performing Arts offering amazing musical and stage presentations.
There is also the Victoria Gardens Cultural Center “Where arts and knowledge bring dreams to life.” And of course you don’t want to miss the Redlands or as know in 1900 as “The City of Millionaires”.
Recreation – If you are into the outdoors, you are going to love San Bernardino. There are over 9,200 acres of regional parks located in 9 park facilities. Enjoy hiking, biking, fishing, camping and just enjoying nature.
