About Santa Barbara Business College
We are experiencing an explosion in growth of our aging population, and that makes vocational nursing a high demand profession. Qualified vocational nurses provide vital support to doctors, patients and health care facilities.
Santa Barbara Business College (SBBC), founded in 1888, provides an excellent opportunity for applicants to take advantage of this growing trend by giving their students a steady and in depth education by expert instructors.
This quality approach prepares graduates for entry-level positions in hospitals (in-patient and out-patient), clinics, long-term health care facilities and home care.
Applicants must meet with an admissions representative, and those applicants without high school diplomas are required to take the Wonderlic Basic Skills Test (WBST). Nursing students are required to complete the Nursing Entrance Test (NET) before admission.
The Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools accredits Santa Barbara Business College to award diplomas and Associate of Academic Science degrees.
Santa Barbara Business College is a large historical facility located on Chapala Street in Santa Barbara. It provides parking, street access, large classrooms and can be reached easily by public transit.
In order to receive financial aid, applicants must be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen with either a high school diploma, a GED, or a passing score on an independently administered examination approved by the department of education. They must also have enrolled as a regular student in an eligible program and possess a valid social security number (SSN). Please note that the applicant must not be in default of a student loan or owe a refund on a Federal Pell Grant.
Once meeting these requirements, the applicant may apply for such financial aids as Federal Pell Grants, Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grants (FSEOG), Cal Grant C, Federal Perkins Loan, Federal Subsidized Stafford Loan, Federal Unsubsidized Stafford Loan, and the Federal Parent Loan for Undergraduate Students and Institutional Scholarships.
Students may also apply, if they are eligible, to the Veterans Education Benefits, Bureau of Indian Affairs, Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, Employee Tuition Reimbursement, JTPA, and other organizations and agencies providing scholarships and grants.
