About Tucson College
Tucson College offers open admissions to their applicants and requires a non-refundable application fee of $75 for processing. However, if the applicant does not possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent, they will be required to pass the Wonderlic entrance exam before admission.
This institution offers a wide variety of technical programs with courses often lasting less than a year. They have a small student body, which allows their students considerably more one-on-one time than bigger post secondary institutions.
About the Certified Nursing Assistant Program
With the tremendous shortages of nurses and nursing assistants expected to worsen in the future, Tucson College is providing a much-needed service to the health care industry. Certified nursing assistants help bridge this widening labor gap by providing the necessary qualified nursing support in the areas of observation, records and documentation, allowing the patient to receive better more personalized care.
The certified nursing assistant program is offered in two settings. The program itself involves 160 instructional hours that can be taken in an 8-week period using daytime instruction or a 10-week period of night classes.
Graduates of this course can be certified by taking the C.N.A. Examination that is administered by Experior Testing Services for the Arizona State Board of Nursing. Upon certification, certified nursing assistants have the skills and knowledge necessary to work under the direct supervision of a licensed nurse in the medical or rehabilitation facilities or home health care.
Certified nursing assistant graduates are prepared for multiple career paths including that of a nursing assistant, a home health aide and a restorative aide.
Accreditation
Tucson College is fully licensed by the Arizona State Board for Private Post Secondary Education and is accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS). The ACICS is formally recognized by the U.S. Department of Education as a national accrediting agency.

Tucson College is located in Tucson, Arizona. The campus can be reached easily by public transportation. The college consists of two modern one-story buildings totaling 17,000 square feet, containing large air-conditioned classrooms and separated by an atrium where students can relax and study. Well-lit parking close to the entrances is provided for students with cars, motorbikes and bicycles. Students wishing to car pool can arrange this through student services.
